Im looking to cast an opaque, black color with no shimmer and was wondering if people have used enamel paints to tint PR? I've used testors to tint epoxy and was wondering if it was comparable with Pr.

Thanks in advance!

Just use the proper dye, for the resin product. you won't need as much and you will eliminate any and all problems that have been found when people use non tested colorant. Both PR and Aluminite coloring dyes are sold at most Micheal's and Hobby lobby stores with the 40% off coupons from either the weekly newspapers or their websites the dyes are under $3.00 a bottle.

You will save more money on the resin you don't waste trying to save a little money by using what you either have on hand.

I use the dyes from US Composits. But for black, I just use black MICA powder. Not black pearl, but plain black. But I use a lot of the white dye.

I have used spray paint and car touch up paint to get my colors with Alumilite, not sure if it would work in PR but you can always try.

Order the pigment from your pr supplier to get proper blend. Or you can use some.oil.base paint. Do not use water base

I make all my own blanks and have had great results with PR from US Composites and opaque pigments from TAP Plastics.
