With my wedding rapidly approaching, it is time that i publicly thanked a few people that helped make the preparations much, much easier!

I've almost finished all of my woodworking tasks for the wedding...just have the envelope box and cake stand to finish...

The biggest task, by far, was the wedding favours. I made individual bottle stoppers for all of the guests (over 120)...I was having a bit of trouble meeting my quota, however so Ed Brown (ed4copies) turned 20 or so wonderful stoppers and sent them to me!! That saved me a good chunk of time, Ed, so thanks very much!

My fiance was trying to order some things from the states, and was having a lot of trouble figuring out how to get them here...Dawn (Pr_Princess) let us send it to her, and she forwarded them to us! Thanks, Dawn...She certainly appreciated it!

Much to my chagrin, Dawn and Ed of Exoticblanks.com sent everything on their own dime, and will not let me send them money as yet (I'm still trying)...I guess I'll just have to make Exoticblanks.com my PRIMARY source of blanks from now on!! Ed and Dawn - you're getting money from me one way or another!

Last, but certainly not least, is our beloved moderator Mesquiteman. Curtis sent me a TON of mesquite as a wedding present to turn into bottle stoppers. That mesquite was PRIME stuff, and was a JOY to turn. To buy it up here is impossible, and even if I could, it would likely have cost more than the dinner bill for my wedding.

Better friends, a fellow could not have. Curtis, Ed, and Dawn all have my profound thanks, and my heartfelt good wishes! :) It is truly a testament to the wonderful nature of many of our forum members. This is perhaps the most generous collection of people I know! :)

HEY, I'm getting married in a week - I'm ALLOWED to be Sappy!!

Three cheers for Ed, Dawn, and Curtis! :)

Andrew.
Just remember these two magic words -
"Yes Dear"

And this one sentence -
"Is that a trick question?"

In all seriousness, congratulations to you and your wife to be. May you have a long and wonderful life together.

WHENEVER you hear, "Does this make me look fat???" or any words REMOTELY SIMILAR, the only right answer is silence. IF your silence is questioned, simply deny having heard the question.

Best to leave the room, before your silence is questioned. Feed the dog, walk the dog, don't have a dog-----GET one. Why do you think they are MAN'S best friend??

Andrew I sincerely hope you and your soon to be bride have the good fortune to be blessed with a relationship as wonderful an fulfilling as my wife and I have shared for the past 35 years.

Andrew.
The day of my wedding my farther inlaw gave me some very important advice.

In the good times and in the bad, when your not speaking, at the end of the day, when you put the lights out, tell her you love her.

Best wishes, John

Andrew, both Ed and I were happy to help! There was nothing to it, but I am glad that the package got past customs unscathed.:biggrin:

I hope that you and your wife to be have a wonderful wedding day. May you treasure each other - always.

Oh, and for the record....Ed does not have a dog!:biggrin:

Andrew,
Would you believe that I am sending you a check for $1,000,000,000, ...NO? How about a new lathe and tools ....NO? How about best wishes for a beautiful wedding and a happy life together.
God Bless,
Eric

Dang, 1 million I just about had, eh?

Missed it by that much!

Would you believe that that's the SECOND biggest wedding gift I've ever seen! :)

Thanks, Eric - that's the best gift in that mix anyway...but the million would be nice too!

Andrew, that's one Billion in the USA.
One thousand million in Europe.
Don't know Canadian.

Hope you don't teach math.

Statistics show that married men live longer than single men. But it's not true. It only seems longer!:biggrin:

(26 years and counting!)
