Was thinking outside the box this week and looking to do something different. Added twice as much red color as I usually do - 2 generous drops of red dye per ounce instead of one - and dumped in 3 or 4 times the amount of gold powder. Was looking for a glimmering red. What I got was a rod that looked Copper, when turned the shavings were a perfect pink cotton candy and the end result was a brown barrel with a shimmering chatoyance and the look of "quilted wood". Did a test run on a fancy slimline kit in gun metal and then cast 6 more rods. Think I'll call this "Copper Sky"
