I don't get to go on many vacation trips . But I just spent a week in Arizona with my sweetheart . While we were there , it was a must , to visit Anthony Turchettas ( Penworks ) shop . I met Tony and toured his shop . I was amazed at the works he had on display . I was so overwhelmed , I forgot to buy anything . ( sorry Tony ) So , I guess I'll have to visit his website .

Tony was very gracious in showing us around , and even gave me his copy of the Oct.-Nov. copy of the Stylus magazine . What a guy !! Thanks Tony !

If you're going to Arizona , be sure to stop by Cave Creek and visit Tony's shop . And , he does have stuff for sale .:biggrin:

Counmt me in also. I would love to see Tony's shop, and also his brothers shop. One of my dreams is that when my son graduates from college in 2013, that I can go back to school. I want to go to the Chicago School of Violin Making. Working with wood, carving, and creating a musical instrument would be a wonderful experience.

Hey Chuck, thanks for stopping by and the visit, I know it was a little out of your way.
No purchases nessasary for the nickle tour

I was supposed to stop by this past Saturday, but by the time I got up in the area he was already closed up. I will make it a point to stop by on my next trip. I also wish I knew you were out there Chuck, I would have taken you and you friend out for dinner.

That's a great jesture Neil I would have enjoyed the time with you I'm sure , as well as the meal . We had some great dinners while we were there . My favorite has to be the " Rustlers Roost " . Great view of Phoenix lights , and the best tasting T-bone . Ever been there ? Anyway , how about a reign-check ? We are definately going back , and will stop in to see Tony again . I didn't get to see everything !

I, too, was able to drop in to meet Tony and his daughter (future pen turner) over the Thanksgiving weekend. He definitely has a lot of eye candy for anyone interested in pens. I quickly learned that there is a lot I do not know about pens, and that there are more pen companies than I had ever imagined. Tony was also generous enough to give me two magazines during my visit.

I did purchase a few blanks and some ink while I was there. I'm curious as to how these Lucite blanks will turn out (pun intended).

The nickle tour of his shop was also a great experience. I do not get to see many others' work shops. I just might have to drop in again sometime when I am out visiting the in laws again.

Thanks Tony.

Nice to meet you and your family Chris, the shop is always open
Vanessa will not see to much shop time, she is my top outside sales person

Almost 5000 post for Penworks. Wow that is alot. I checked your photos and love your sign. I have been trying to come up with something for myself. Very clever.

My wife & I are thinking of visiting our oldest son & family.....they just bought a house in Surprise, AZ (about 30 miles from Cave Creek). If we get there, we'll definately make a point to come by for a visit!!! Son is stationed down there in the AF......just returned from a tour in Okinawa.

I am hoping to go down for the get together in 2009, since I am just north of you in Salt Lake City, Utah I am not that far away.
