First the tear. To all those families affected by the senseless tragic incident in St Louis. My heart goes out to all of you. May he rot in hell. Enough said.

The rant. :mad: So the family van has been acting up and I guessed that as it's a diesel that at least one of the glow plugs was kaput. Normally I'd just swap them myself even though they are $£&(%$£ difficult to get to without special tools. With the tools it takes about 20 mins tops. This morning was minus 15deg C :eek: and I was reluctant to freeze my arse off, so I eventually got it going and drove it the dealer....
'Sure sir, we can do it while you wait............£186.00'
'Er, how much are just the glow plugs?'
'£9.50 each sir' ( I need 4 )
'I'll just take the plugs then please'
'Sorry we are out of stock sir'
:mad::mad::mad::mad:

The gloat part one. Then I drive down the road to the auto shoppe...Got the plugs, a snazzy full set of long reach sockets, a flexi drive for them, a whole herd of other nifty tools that I really 'needed' and even went past the resin shop and got 5 litres of PR and some pigments.
Total cost......£143.00:biggrin: Eat that, Renault!!!! No wonder your guys are standing around with nothing to do!!:tongue:

The gloat part two. :biggrin: I dropped into our local branch for coffee and to say 'Happy New Year' to some colleagues. An old mate says 'You still making those junkie stainless pens Jackson? Cos we were cleaning up and I saved you some....'

See pic. :biggrin::eek::biggrin: I guess I owe him another pen or two!!!!

Day turned out okay after all. I picked up a propane salamander heater a few years back for working on the trucks when it was cold, it does wonders.

So Steven you are human and human things happen to you. All this while I thought you were an ET and rode around in a spaceship.:) Congratulations on all the neat stuff you aquired today. Can't wait to see all the awesome things you make out of your haul.

Lovely gloat Steve, you are going to be busy for a while with that lot. I had to buy a new oil filled radiator for my workshop as the small one I had was no good in these low temperatures we are having in the UK.

Take great care when you are driving my friend as I know you cover many miles each day!!!

I tend not to follow the news, so had to go look up your reference to St. Louis. Sad.

Nice stack of SS there.

And ... Renault? After the LeCar fiasco here, nobody wants a Renault.
