Well it almost worked. Recently I posted a thread on my ventures into casting. This is the original post.
I have never turned PR before and found it's quit different then polymer and wood. Most of my turning is polymer. I had read that PR can be brittle, but didn't experience that until I was almost done turning a blank. It didn't help I was getting a little impatient, but when I was almost to size and getting ready to move to sanding my skew caught the blank just enough to rip out a nice chunk of PR!!!
I didn't spend alot of time finishing after that, but I did do a little sanding so I could start to see how the blank would look without the big hole in it. I must say I like it. It did have a few tiny air bubbles that were easy to fill with CA. The good thing is I have 3 more blanks (3 different colors) from the batch to practice on.
