As a tribute to the winged one please post photos of the pens you have made from his blanks. No need for comments as his craftsmanship and artistry speaks for it's self.

To my friend Eagle I will miss you more than you could know.
Godspeed in your final flight......

Our first was an Eagle's Feather. He spent many hours with us on the phone to get this the way we wanted as it was a gift to our daughter.

Our second was an Eagles Wave which he worked with us on as it was to be the showcase piece in our first art gallery display. The gallery owner has been called and it will be returned to us as it is no longer for sale.

Our last Eagle blank was a gift to Linda. He was so proud that a female was able to turn and complete one of his creations.

Eagle was the first to create the Inlay Cross.
I've done several variations on this:

In fact, at my daughter's wedding two weekend's ago, the happy couple asked for a
pen to present to the gentleman performing the ceremony and this was his gift:

This is from a blank Eagle made for me as a gift because I'd been supplying him with
hard maple used in the cores of many of his fabulous blanks.

May God's grace shine upon the Prisavage family as we honor their Eagle.

I sent Eagle some blanks and scraps for his projects. Months later, I received the blank that yielded this pen. Eagle supplied the BOW of the blank. The cross is made from Irish Bog Oak (he hated Bog Oak!!) The background surrounding the cross is quartersawn oak from my grandmother's piano. Not only was Eagle a genius with blanks, but he wanted to make them special to the recipient.

Greg,

I had the honor of holding and admiring the last pen you showed. Eagle called it "The Old Rugged Cross" a title that is especially poignant at this time.

This is the first blank Eagle made for me. He referred to it as the original Wave. I had sent him some Holly , Walnut and some PR for an experiment he wanted to try and one day this showed up.

After his coaching it turned into this my most cherished pen never to be sold:

We were talking on the phone one week-end and he said he needed some clear holly and I had some so sent it to him, little did I know he wanted to make me a feather blank he called "Robaldo 300". I now wish I hadn't sold the pen I made from it:

This is one that still sits in his shop, a while ago I sent him some antler and told him to have some fun, this past week he e-mailed me these pictures of the blank he was making from it: It was to be "Robaldo 301", what an honor......

I had just talked to Eagle a week ago and he had sent me a picture of the black ebony feather blank that he was making for me. We spent many hours talking on the phone and I sent him an alligator pen and several pieces of wood a couple of weeks ago. I am very saddened by his unexpected and sudden passing. The world has lost a very unique artist and human being. I pray for his wife, Lynn, and his family. I know he will be missed by many, many people. Soar like and Eagle, my friend.

I've been setting here remembering Eagles' firsts posts concerning segmenting. As well as all the photos of His work as the artistry began to flow out of Him. It is amazing to see this collection. I am very sorry now but I never did get one of his blanks. He has inspired me often to try and do some of my own but now a pen made from one of his would be a priceless addition to my personal collection. I guess I always thought that eagle would give what he gave to those he chose, and never thought to actually ask for one. Knowing Eagle as I do, I still think I am right and things are as he would have them be. The truth is it would be a more fitting tribute to Eagle if I made a blank myself that was inspired by his work. anyone that knew Eagles knows he was very big on going and doing it yourself.

If you look at the first wave pen in the set I posted, Eagle said that was his first try at the wave. You will notice it is a true sine wave from end to end; nothing but curves. But he had problems getting the wave to line up properly body to cap after trimming and milling the ends so he switched to his later designs where it is a single wave with straight ends.

It's fun looking at all of these and seeing his progressions of designs. I think the main thing all of us can learn from looking at all of Eagle's pens is PATIENCE. There is not a single blank here that is a "quick one" but they are all outstandingly gorgeous. Beauty is worth the work and the wait.

Eagle called me on day last year and asked me what colors he should use for a Wave blank. This is what we settled on and he insisted that I sell it because he was thinking of changing the design and would make my another one with the newer, more complex design. I did sell it, but wish now I hadn't.

My favorite of the blanks Eagle made for me: BOW with inlaid Crusader shield. My carry pen (and yes, I'll take it to Iraq with me).

Cheers Eileen
