There have been a couple of threads recently about how cool this place is, I'm sure you already know or have at least seen the threads.

Well, I always knew that, but I still often get surprised. They say that 'What goes around, comes around'. But quite often what 'comes' is far greater than what 'Goes'

Long story short....
Bob ( Rollerbob ) commissioned Ken ( Bitshird ) to make this Custom Woodchuck for me and it arrived about five minutes ago.
It is very rare that a tool can be described as 'beautiful' but I think you will agree that this one certainly is!!!!

I will make a handle for it this weekend and post another pic, but I'm off on my travels again and need to prep for a work trip to Tunisia ( North Africa )on Monday, so I don't think I will get a chance to give it a whirl until I get back. But you will hear all about it soon!!!:wink:

Fantastic!. And yes, there are some great people here. It's amazing to think of the many friendships that develop between people who have never met face to face.

Ken ,you should be a proud Poppa!! Looks even better in your hand!!:cool: I heard that you were taking orders for these, true?:biggrin:
 
Just knocked up a quick handle for it. Thick walled aluminium tube with solid brass core down the middle to add some heft. The knurling isn't great and I might still jazz it up a bit more, but the grip is pretty secure.

I'm gonna have to squeeze in some play time with it now:biggrin:

I've never used a tool like this before, so wish me luck:wink:

Bob There have been rumors that I am taking orders for this new tool, I have to figure some type of discount though for the IAP members,Actually yours and Skips were the first ones I did of this new Pen sized tool, I've done a few of the older style but these will take all 3 of the 15mm inserts. I made one for my self a few days ago, and it's nice not having to drag the length of a bowl gouge length tool around just for making pens. The bad thing is I tend to put things that will fit into my pockets IN MY POCKETS, Wifey isn't impressed!!

That was my very first lesson!!!!:eek::biggrin:

Not only will it probably make SWMBO mad, but it's the quickest way to give yourself a DIY vasectomy!!!! Man, those corners are SHARP:eek:
 
It's awesome Steve, congrat's. That tool does some serious hogging. I was fortunate to be surprised with one several months back, but mine came with a handle too! :tongue:

My pictures aren't as good as yours, and I've scratched it up some. It was like it was too beautiful to use, but it has to be used, so I use it. :smile-big:

Says "Custom made for Jeff Powell 'Master Scroller'" yea baby..It's bigger and has more words than yours!!!

Been hunting for going on 7 months. Something has got go give soon. I hate being broke.
