As some of you know, my wife is a diabetic and has a lot of the problems that goes along with diabetes, she has neuropathy(sp) in her feet, has retinopathy and has lost the sight in her right eye, and in November of 06' her kidneys failed and she had to start dialysis. She got "the call" twice before but there was no match. Well, this morning at 3am she went to surgery and got the new kidney. It started working immediately and she is doing good. God is good. :D:D:D:D:D

I've seen too many people that never got the chance your wife has now. I'm very happy for her and all of your family too. I'll pray that everything works well into the future.

Thanks everyone, we appreciate the thoughts and prayers.

Joe, I planned to give her one of mine but they found that I'm diabetic about two weeks before all the other tests.

Fantastic! I recieved a liver 5 years ago so I know the feeling of relief and joy. I will be forever gratefull to my doner family for a second chance at life. good luck and good health.

Thats great to hear your wife finally got a kidney. I received mine in 2005. Life is good. I too have neuropathy in my feet. Its just something I have to live with. Give it a few months and she should be doing great.

That's awesome Tom. I'm real happy for you and your wife. My Mom had a shunt put in for when she needs dialysis. They think she's close. I offered her one of my kidneys, but she won't take it as she says my kids may need it. I don't know what to do. She is 71 and I don't want to see her hooked up to a dialysis machine.:(

Again I thank you for your kind wishes and prayers, we both appreciate it.I hope everyone here that has had a transplant continues to stay healthy. I'm off to the hospital. :D

Congrats on the good news and my prayers for her recover and your strength and patience. I also ask for wisdom for you at every turn. Usually for me it is far better to have understanding in any situation than anything else, It sort of brings everything else I need along with it.
