A Neat IAP Story About A Burl (Kinda Long)

Recently I had railrider1920 contact me about a Burl he seen from the train he works on.We discussed it and he gave me the address where he had seen it.Today I went to the Birmingham train station to give him a box of goodies and recieve a box of goodies.He gave me a quick look inside the train(really cool) and we had a brief chat while he was working(and he showed me a nice pen he posted in SOYP).Anyway,I left the train station and went to try to find the burl and I did find it(thanks to him talking to me on my cellphone).Man it is in a really,really bad part of town.If anyone can help in identifying the type of tree that would be great.This whole story makes me think about how great IAP is and how many people we get to meet thanks to IAP.I made one small post and rob remembered where I live and it started this whole thing.Now I have made yet another friend.Thanks Jeff and all the other people who make IAP work.

Now I just have to figure out how to get it and who owns the property.The tree seems to have had some fire damage.Note the black on the left side of the burl and the tree.

do you have a picture of the leaves? it's kinda hard to tell with just the bark, but i'm sure someone on here has seen a beauty of a burl like that before.

Yeah, we swapped boxes, but I have to tell everyone, I sure got the better deal. I just hope that I can make something nice looking from what I received. It was nice to meet you face to face. Maybe one day I'll get up there for a few hours.
