I've seen the Panache before and thought they carried a wonderful appearance but never took the time to make any. The recent CSUSA group buy gave me the opportunity ot get a couple that I could experiment with. I don't think it's a pen you an carry in your pocket, but it would certainly grab comments sitting on a desk!

The pen requires a long blank (6" MINIMUM) so most acrylics or Tru-Stone are out (too bad). I went to my wood stash and grabbed some wenge (which I ALWAYS have issues with) and some cross cut padauk. The appearance of the pen is real important so I took extra care in getting the form where I wanted it. Many coats of thin CA and a LOT of sanding/polishing later and here's what I got:

I really enjoy making Panache pens,and I use one at work daily.

Very nice pens. I have a couple of those kits and haven't had a chance to turn them yet. Looks like I will be turning them this weekend. Very nice again.
