This is a first one for me but i really liked this one and i wanted to share it with you guys. This is called athena kit from taylors mirfield; it has the "new" click mechanism (i don't know what the old one looked like) and to be honest it looked really sturdy and well made. The tube is a bit longer than a sierra and the pen is a lot lighter than a twist pen. I used olive wood finished with pens plus, what do you guys think?

Beautiful wood and a terrific more-natural finish. Fine wood and equally fine work.

I think it looks great. Sleek design and olive wood is always a winner.

Unless a kit comes with a Schmidt mechanism, I'm done with click pens.

The rest I've used are cheap and not worth the time and money.

Indeed it is a schmidt mechanism, didnt know it is wellknown, cheers

That's a nice looking pen. I really like that kit, too. The Schmidt mechanism is fantastic and it looks good on this kit. On some pens, the mechanism just visually stands out too much. It would be nice if they would find a way to recess it. It would be great if Schmidt would offer it in other finishes, too.

I love the flowing lines on that one ! Nice work and good to hear it feels nice as well. Sometimes I think we get hung up on complicated blanks / looks and forget the tactile bit ?

I'm right there with you on that. The only click pens I'll sell has to have a Schmidt mechanism.
