I was helping my 6 year old daughter study her spelling words. She has a habit of letting her mind wonder, even when it looks like she is paying attention. Any how, I noticed that she was getting distracted. I asked what she was thinking about and she couldn't tell me. Well I gave her a lecture about focus, and keeping your mind on track. I told her " When you see another thought trying to wonder in and take you away to somewhere else, you need to just KICK it right back out the door." After a few minutes she was frowning and looking worried. I asked what the problem was now. Her reply was, " All I can think about now is BOOTS!!!" well....she got me there.
