I am finally, gainfully, employed again.

Long drought, very few interviews. I was beginning to thing it wasn't ever going to happen.

Great job, same drive time as old job (a mile down the street from the old one, as a matter of fact) and making almost the same amount of money that I was making after 20 years with the old job.

Thanks to all who offered support and encouragement over the past, many, months.

You won't see me around here, as much, for a while. I'm going to be busy learning the new system. (and making my PITH buddy's pen:biggrin:)

Do I get a big CHEER from the crowd?:wink::biggrin:

I'M SOOOO HAPPY!!!!!:bananen_smilies051::bananen_smilies051::bananen_smilies051:

Yes congratulations, I know how tough the job market is down here. Not to mention that the pay scale has dropped off sharply. Good luck and hang on to it.

Wonderful news, Nancy! I hope the transition goes smoothly. I'm so happy for you. I hear your sigh of relief all the way over here in CA.

Just in time to miss Black Firday as well, so it is double good news.
Glad for you, hope you have this job as long as you want.
20 years is a long time to be at a place to lose that job, so sorry about that one.

Jerry

ps. Charlie and I heard your sigh up here as well

Thank you all, so much!

I am the new Payroll Administrator for Remington College. Originally based in Arkansas, they moved most of the main office down here several years ago and then moved the Acctg dept down about 2 years ago.

I had a former Arkansas p/r administrator training me, here, for a week. My brain hurt from trying to cram in as much info as she could give me, in the short time she was here. She'll be phone & email support for as long as I need her but I really feel like I'm getting a good handle on it now.

I've spent a couple hours every night, after I got home, re-writing my notes into a readable form and adding in anything I remembered but didn't write down.

It's funny, I've been on such a 'fast-track' that I haven't even gone through orientation yet. That should happen some time this week.

The best parts (other than actually being employed again) is that I get paid for holidays starting immediately - no 90 day probationary period - and insurance starts after 60 days, instead of 90 or 180.

I'm so thrilled and thank you all, very much, for sharing in my excitement.
