Make sure you check shipping costs. It was cheaper for us to buy five 1-gal cans than one 5-gal can due to shipping of the 5 gal can.

Ok, no help with finding 5gl. of PR. Found nothing in searching the forum. Maybe someone would be so kind as to where a good place to get gallons. Links would be wonderful.

Thanks
Dale

Dale, if you live near Chicago, you need to search locally for a plastics dealer. I live in a WAY smaller town (Denver) looked in the yellow pages under Plastics, and found a distributor that has everything I'll ever need. I gallon cans of Silmar 41, but sells 5 1 gallon cans for the 5 buck price. VERY handy as it's so much easier dealing with a 1 gallon can. He has transparent and solid tints, molds, faux granite mix, Novus polishes and cleaners, and stuff I don't need yet but will. The best part? NO SHIPPING! He's 15 miles from me, near a beer store I love, so life is good.

Shop local, wherever possible, and it's possible if you are near Chicago. I'm paying about 30 bucks a gallon with the 5 gallon price, about 2 bucks more a gallon than U.S. Composites. But about 40-50 bucks cheaper to ship.

Hope that helps,
Dale

If I knew of a supplier in the Chicago area I would tell you or even give a link...but I live in Texas. Try finding Composites One or US Composites. Surely one has an outlet in Chicago. And, as mentioned, ask about shipping unless you can pick it up.
Do a good turn daily!

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach that man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

I am usually johnny on the spot with info when I have it but sometimes encouraging one to do a little research for themselves is necessary. Below is the link to their site. I found it quite easily on the internet thus so could anyone else. Granted, not a company name most are familiar with here, but major none the same. One can get resins, both poly and urethane, in sizes up to 55 gallon drums. And yes, one can pick up their order if they are able to.
