the bubbasville penturners cordially invite all texas penturners and of course our neighboring penturners too (and even those turners who don't turn pens) to a special penturning demonstration by Chris Hendley on his "wave pen design" pens...
the event will be held at the regular ftw bubbasville location (jeff carrell's shop in hurst, tx) this sat may 19th starting at 930A...
before chris's demo, we will have regular bubbasville turning and some mini-demo's...a lunch break...then at 1P chris's demo on the "wave pen"...afterwards, more penturning fun, maybe even a drawing for goodies...we will wrap it up by 5P...
the mini-demos scheduled so far:
john solberg and pete tkacs - the "Bruised Brothers" - a mini-vacuum chuck system
don ward - the MillLathe - flat and spiral pen designs
for the penturning get-together, all turners are encouraged to:
(1) bring your tools, mandrels, bushings, kits, wood and questions
(2) bring some pens for "show and tell"
(3) bring something to share with the others such as a modification, pen design, new technique, new pen idea, finishing secrets, etc,
(4) bring a friend
we will have mini-lathes available to turn on, and access to a bandsaw and drill press...
we also have plenty of freedom pen kits to turn, so be ready to make a few!
lunch will be provided: hot dogs, hamburgers, bratwurst, chips, drinks, etc...
i will need to have a basic idea of how many folks plan to attend (for seating, lunch, etc) so if you could plz send me an email with your plans of attending, that would help us out alot! plz email jeff.carrell@texaspenturners.com
