Yesterday, 5/11, I got an email from Greg (Cozee) asking for permission to use my demonstration at the Midwest Penturners Gathering on the DVD that is being produced. Greg wanted to avoid controversy by funding the DVD production costs out of his own pocket and charging buyers only the cost of postage.
Greg and Terrence should not bear the complete cost of this project without, at a bare minimum, being compensated for their many hours of production and editing time and the costs for making and distributing the DVDs. Below is my response:
Hey Greg,
Thanks for the letter, and for the opportunity to
comment about my demo on the MPG DVD. I am reluctant
to say yea or nay to the use of my demonstration on
the video unless the original offer - $10.00 per copy
is honored.
There has been too much time and effort expended in
preparing the video for distribution, with additional
headaches coming as the copies are distributed. The
price is more than fair and so many people recognize
the good value.
If the issue is leftover money that you and Terrence
do not want to keep or share, for the time and effort
you both invested (just because the work has already
taken place does not mean that it should not be paid)
please use it for funding next year's MPG.
May I please have your permission to post this message
at the IAP?

$10.00 per copy is a fair price and a great value. Keep that original price and you have my permission to use my demo.
