Namiki Emperor Collection Goldfish Fountain Pen. Very nice collectors piece, I was just thinking all the new supplies and tools I could buy with the price tag of one pen! :rolleyes:

You know, we have seen pens like this in person. And, yes, Dawn COULD knock out one in a day or so. Wouldn't say Namiki on it. But we often wonder if it would sell for, say, $1200????

Some day, we will probably find out. When we return to shows. (temporarily retired, due to my perception of the economy and our potential clientele).
 
I'm sending Dawn some of the supplies she needs to do this kind of work. We shall see....:biggrin: It might actually take her a couple afternoons. :wink:

Personally, I think there are better examples of detailed artwork in the Namiki line than this pen. However, I would venture to guess there is more than a years worth (maybe two) of subtle layer work on this pen and more patience than any of us can fathom. Fine contrast and gradation in this medium is extremely difficult to pull off and that is why this pen is so valuable. Remember, the images aren't painted in colour. Colour and shading is achieved by sprinkled powders only.
