Well, today was the day. I am now 100% Nicotine free. Yesterday was my last nicotine patch so today begins my new nicotine free life! Got a small headache and am a little edgy but nothing I can't handle! Do not miss the worm dirt in my mouth at all, though. Have not had any cravings and a long time.

Anyway, thanks again my IAP Family for your support when I announced that I was quitting dipping. You all really gave me the resolve to stick with it, although one of the dust ups a few weeks ago here made me re-think that!:)

Anyone else that is dipping or smoking and plan to quit or want to quit, feel free to drop me a line by PM and I will send you my number. I would be more than happy to share some tips with a recent quitter!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! as someone who has not been able to kick the nicotine habit...I know what you went thru...so glad you got thru to the 'other side'
maybe i will someday

Congratulations!! That is a HUGE accomplishment. I bet everything tastes so much better now, huh....so go celebrate with a big ol' texas smoked brisket!! ...speaking of which, time to check the Maine smoked brisket:biggrin::rolleyes::biggrin:

Good for you Curtis, quitting Nicotine is about the hardest thing there is and you did it, stay on the road and in a year or so you will be glad you did. I quit almost 16 years ago after over 30 years of smoking, second best thing I ever did.

congratulation Curtis

unless someone has gone through it they don't really appreciate how hard of addiction it is to kick. keep up the good work. and besides, think of all the cash you will have for extra pen parts now.

Well done Curtis........one of the tougher things I've accomplished in my life was to quit smoking. That was thirteen years ago & I still have cravings & the "smoking dreams" every once in a while.

Keep it up.....................

Tim

Congrats, Its always good to hear when another one quits. Don't let this site get you back into it. It is relatively tame over here compared to a fishing site I go to.

Quit overnight January 21st 1962 was a heavy smoker when I commenced work at 15 yrs of age quit 18yrs to 21yrs then finally quit at age 28. My wife really hated the smell of tobacco and I was smoking 60 a day. I stopped the night before changing my religeon, forever grateful for quitting and joining. To have a reason strong enough to say thats it no regrets is what I was seeking.

Very happy to hear of your complete withdrawal.
Regards Peter

Big Gratz!!! My wife and I are now 3 weeks smoke free. No patch here(Tried that) Chantix for us. So far it's getting easier, Went to Wally World yesterday and had a smoker walk by us and it smelled horrible. Glad I don't want that any more

QUITTER!!!!

Actually, congrats on a major accomplishment, for being a good guy for the Cody fundraiser, and for being a fair and impartial moderator that is sometimes under appreciated but never forgotten.

You Pansy!!

Dude, I quit Cigarettes, Pot, Coke, Meth, Heroine, and OxyContin all cold turkey and all on the same day! I didn't need no stinking patches. Boo Hoo, Boo Hoo

Ok, It was just Cigarettes.

Good for you Curtis! I know from experience that it is not an easy thing to do and you now have to make it a resolve that you will NEVER pick up a dip again. If you can't do it for yourself then thing of that beautiful little girl that you have. You want to be around to walk her down the aisle one day don't you?

Good for you

I congratulate you....to the guy who said if you haven't quit, you can't know what the quitter went through....bull pucky, you sure can. Having attempted quitting about a dozen times and lasting from 1 day to 6 months I know what he went through and is going through. I am not able to use patches, they make me look like I have a bad staff infection. I can't use gum, it makes the inside of my mouth so sore I can't tolerate it so I've tried cutting back, quitting cold turkey, cutting back for 3 months then going cold turkey. But, that's me....congratulations and best of luck.
