Just another video in the series. I also take a look at the Easy Wood Easy chuck in the video if you are interested.

Love the video Mark. I'm working on an aluminum pen right now. It's slow going but coming along. Some aluminum is harder than other aluminum.

Mark, I think that there is aluminum tubing at the local big box store that is .5" OD and 16 ga. wall thickness. Would this be easier to use than the rod, as you wouldn't have to drill out as much?

Mike,

That is an excellent question - the first one that I did (and referenced in the video), I did use big box solid. If you try the aluminum tubing - please let me know how is works - the purpose of the channel is to facilitate these conversations and I always like when people let me know how it worked for them.

Here is what I used...

And thanks for watching.

Nice video Mark!
I've used the aluminum tube that comes with the harbor freight paint tank that I convert to a pressure pot for casting. It's about 15" long and 3/4" diameter with about a 10mm hole up the middle. The down side is for thinner pens there is still plenty of material to remove but it's scrap that I don't use in the tank. Helps recover my investment. Lol
