I'm sure it's been discussed, but I cannot find it in the group... The slimline pens close when people write with them. Where can I buy better transmissions for them?

I have come across at time a very loose transmission in some pen kits. The transmission fits OK in the pen but is loose when turning it to retract the pen into the barrel.

A young person of my acquaintance was assembling his first-ever pen (slimline), and he pushed the transmission in too far by just a half mm. Now, even when the pen is fully 'retracted,' the tip of the refill sticks out past the tip of the pen. Is there any way to back the transmission up...
