I bought the starter kit from Stainless Steel Bottle Stoppers and finished it off today. The first three are posted here. I sold my first one yesterday but in my excitement to fulfill the order I shipped the wrong one so I'm sending the correct one tomorrow and having them keep them both.

I'll probably get another kit. I did some searching for the brass insert on McMaster Carr but the ones I saw are more similar to these from william wood-write which are a good deal but with shipping from Canada make them less so.

On to the stoppers.

I use the brass inserts from stainless bottle stoppers with no issues. Are you having problems with the insert?
Very nice work and you called it right with your customer on letting them keep the misent stopper.
Thanks!

No, no problems at all with the inserts from stainless bottle stoppers. Just the min/max part of my personality wondering if there's a better deal to be had.
Your design shapes show of the colors well! Beautiful work!
Thanks!

The bottle stoppers look great!
Thanks!
Cool collection. I really like the stature of liberty torch one -- the brown and tan one. - Dave
Thanks! More google for inspiration and then trying to adapt what I have to what I was shooting for. That one turned out better than I thought it would halfway through.

I haven't found a better deal...yet. I buy my stoppers and inserts 50 at a time. Also the magnetic bottle openers which do well for me and I also buy them 50 at a time. I'm hoping to make it through this year with that many. The openers might last me 6 months...maybe. What I appreciate most about Stainless is their customer service/support. I use the 501 stopper and it does very well for me. You've really got some nice stoppers here.

Black Is my favorite
That shape was going to be soooo different. Basically a cone but I was getting a bit to aggressive with the skew and sheared off a few plies. I thought about sanding down the other side to make a V but I was afraid I wouldn't get them even. So I made it round and added a bunch of beads.

Absolutely awesome work. I like the shape you of all of them. If by brass insert you mean the insert you screw the stopper into, note that different brands have different diameters so be sure they match the stopper. They aren't all uniform in diameter. I really like the Ruth Niles line of steel stoppers but they use different size inserts so I haven't tried any yet.
You can get inserts (not sure if they are steel or aluminum) at a reasonable price from Penn State Industries. If they're compatible with your kits try their website.
