This is a gold Vertex Supreme, dressed up in olive wood from a cutting board I found at Home Goods. This is the first time I've used this kit. The magnetic cap seems more secure than the couple other magnetic ones I've made. The finish is 3(ish?) layers of Gluboost med, and 3-4 of the thin, polished through the Zona grits and then buffed with some Maguire's plastic polish. Notice how well the hexagonal ends are lined up. That was completely by accident as I didn't even think about the alignment. LOL. I should know better, but at least it worked out well without me having to disassemble it.

How did you fill the knots, or did they not require filling?
I used Gluboost ultra thin to get down in them. I also filled a small crack with th same, which blends right into the grain.

Gosh that Olive wood is lovely, I love the little knots and figure.
Thanks. I do look for wood with interesting features; the ugly ducklings. They usually are the most visually interesting. You can't go wrong with olive, though, IMO.
