In this little group there is a couple that just have mineral oil/wax. A couple friction polish, BLO/Shellac/DNA and the painted rim is Lacquer.

Got that from Captain Eddie Castelin online- equal parts of each item. Going to try it. Will it work on pens? Anyone tried it?

I don't know who Captain Eddie is? I've been using this finish off and on for about a decade. Decided to use it a lot more because I can have the whole bowl done when it comes off the lathe. I don't think it would be durable for pens? Just don't know? We did do the toothpick/key chain holders with it.
