I liked the first snakeskin so much I thought I'd make another one with one added feature. This is a Western Diamondback. The pen and cap is the diamonds from the body of the snake and the center band and finial are the black and white bands from the tail. I had a few fangs I'd saved from my taxidermy days so I thought I'd add it to the finial. Questions and Comments are Welcome.

The fang in the final is so incredibly cool. Overall a great look. Only improvement I could imagine would maybe be some way to incorporate a rattle in the centerband somehow. I think the centerband standing out could be awesome.
That's not at all to diminish this pen, I think it's absolutely fantastic.

I thought about trying to use the rattle. I think it would be pretty tough. The rattle is dried skin from the shedding process. It's very thin and fragile plus I'd have to deal with trapped air. Thanks for your input and comments. Maybe I'll come up with a way to make something with all the parts.

I was thinking about it after I made my comment and couldn't really think of a good way to do it either. Maybe another series of small fangs would work, I don't know. The final is definitely super cool.

Thanks. I saved a few fangs from my taxidermy days. The ones I have left are fairly big. Too big for a finial. I might try to put them on a cap someday. If I can come up with an idea to use the fangs as an accent to something else I might give it another try. I was pretty nervous working with this one due to the fact I'm not very good at working with small pieces, especially fragile ones. I was afraid of loosing it and then later stepping on it or sticking myself another way. With a large talented group like we have here it gets tough to come up with something different. Thanks again for all the kind words and comments.
