Hmm, is Atraxes the plural of Atrax? All I know is that I can't say Atrax without it sounding like Aflac in my head. Anyway, this is my first time using these kits. I picked them up last July when Berea had a 50% off site wide sale and just hadn't gotten around to turning them. They've been cut, drilled, glued, and trued for a long time. Life is too distracting.
The first is Goncalo Alves, finished with Pens Plus.
The second is a hybrid with dyed (I think box elder) burl. I think hybrids look cool with dyed wood, but this one really doesn't have enough contrast to stand out. Still, it made a nice pen. The finish is GluBoost, 2 coats of regular and 2 coats of thin, wet sanded through the Zona grits and finished with Maguire's plastic polish.
