A type of stone that is unknown to us in the West and revered in Japan is the chrisanthemum stone, known in Japan as "Kikkaseki" or "Kikumonseki". (Kikka = chrisanthemum, seki = stones, mon = Pattern). The chrisanthemum is an important symbol in Japan, it represents autumn and is the emblem of the Imperial Family.
Stones with three-dimensional, protruding flowers are rare and called Kikkaseki or "sabahana"Kikkaseki. Stones found in mountain streems which have been ground flat and polished by the forces of nature are called «Kikkumon» Chrisanthemeum Pattern Stones
I have spent much time to find a way to produce a lacquer that imitating the polished kikkumonseki
