Every time I borrow my dad's old dump truck, the gear shift knob falls apart. It's a plastic ball with medallion on top showing the gear diagram. It's a bear to shift, probably typical of an'84 Ford. It's been reglued and taped so many times that at this point it falls apart in a stiff wind.
