Yep, but not necessarily "natural." I take a blank, put it in the vice and hit it with a sledge until it breaks (lol). Spread it out a little, then put it an a mold, pour and pressure pot it. I get pieces of exotic hardwood flooring from a local shop so I end up with a lot of cumaru, jatoba, teak, wenge, and other goodies for cheap (99 cents a blank). Here are some more.Very Nice. - I've been thinking about trying to cast some hybrid blanks, but I have to make a block mold first. Am I correct in assuming that your "splintered" wood pieces were simply natural breaks? - Dave
