They vary a little, but all are around 3 inches.
That's what I'm hoping.

You can get these covers from big box wood stores. Penn State and Woodcraft do sell them but you need to search under "filigree bowl lid" to find them. I suspect that has do with legalities on the word "potpourri" but both sights sell these. These are fun projects to make, I have made them before and are typically welcomed gifts. I've made & gifted several (using tops from Craft Supplies, which are listed as Potpourri Lids on their website). The ones in gifted at my office were mostly used for small desktop items, while family members have mostly used them for potpourri. There is a little variation in the diameters and lid thickness, so each bowl needs to be turned to fit a specific lid, which in my opinion is kind of cool (even though the recipient never really knows that). If i were marketing, i think they would be good sellers.
