I've been working on making pens for various family members between other projects over the last few months.
The first one is a Long Click pen with a purple and white JohnU blank from Exotic Blanks. Well, it's actually the 2nd tube I made when attempting this pen as the blank for the first pen blew apart while on the lathe. This is truly a long pen too, it wouldn't fit in my press.
The second pen is a Victorian made with bubinga. This one is quite heavy in the hand because of all the metal in the components. I wasn't sure if I would like it when my niece picked it out but the completed piece has won me over.
The final pen is an equestrian themed english riding pen made out of red mallee. I'm usually not one for big contrast in a pen but thought this would look interesting paired with the brass. For some reason I don't have photos of this one on our normal stand and background.
Finish on all the pens is Glu Boost and Dr Kirks Scratch Free followed by Dr Kirks Micro Magic 3 step polish.
Thanks for looking.
