It's hard for me to back off on busy designs.... Zen kit with walnut, canarywood, redheart, purpleheart and maple.

Keep at it. There are probably a thousand (figuratively) busy designs that look - busy, then there comes the one or two that don't look busy but absolutely genius!

Your work intrigues me. Looks GREAT!
 
I like it. It shows off the intricate detail. If it looks busy try using woods that blend together. But then you have to look closely to admire the work you put into it. I'd probably stick with "Busy".

Your patterns are becoming very crisp, intricate, and very detailed. They are extremely well done. I think you are quickly becoming the expert on this form of segmenting.
