I have to start pulling these kits out of my stash. I like how clean they look and yet make a statement. I believe that cap can be popped out as well. Thanks for showing.

I don't think I've ever turned locust wood, just the burl. I wonder how different they look.

By "popped out" do you mean with a bulge? Yes, I turned it with a slight bulge.

No I am talking about the cabochon at the top

Yes, it has a very slight bulge.
I believe that what John is saying is that that cabochon on the clip end can be popped out as in removed and then replaced with matching material or material of your choice.
