I agree with you about the inner 'pith' ( not sure of the correct terminology ) but the section that looks 'spongy'.I like those. I'm not a fan or the pith of antlers but there was just enough to give the pen some color/ character.
Thanks Todd. Both pens got the same treatment....Sanding sealer....3 coats of Melamine Lacquer.... Renaissance Wax.I really like how that Wenge looks with the antler! The cross grain effect is really nice. What did you use for finish that didn't darken the lighter bands in the Wenge? Or maybe it was the method of application?
We don't grow hair on our chests....we grow twigs!I haven't been to Northern Ireland, but here in the states our babies don't have antlers...
Plus, there is a prohibition against using baby body parts in pens.
I like what you've done there!
Hmm, maybe I should try some sanding sealer. Thanks Todd. Both pens got the same treatment....Sanding sealer....3 coats of Melamine Lacquer.... Renaissance Wax.
only drawback is ,like rhino horn , the dust doesn't make you more frisky but Sheep do look more fetching for a whileā¦..I haven't been to Northern Ireland, but here in the states our babies don't have antlers...
