Tranny removal - no hammering

I saw Ed from Exotic Blanks show how to remove a tranny - it seemed to take a lot of hammering, and with my luck I would definitely injure myself.
So I came up with this - sorry if someone has already posted a similar method.

Ingenious and am so glad that you have shared this technique. I've been a member here a long time and have

Thank you. The wooden MT2 was meant for a pen-press-on-the-lathe but then I thought that could be the stationary hammer against the transfer punch.
 
I do something similar, but I put the transfer punch in my drill press and press down through the tube to push the transmission out.
