I've had a bunch of pens drilled, painted, tubed, trimmed, etc, and ready to toss on the lathe for a while, but there have been way to many adult responsibilities lately. And then, after a week of COVID, I was a little stir crazy, so I finally got out for a motorcycle ride yesterday and in the shop for a simple pen today. Yay, me. I guess I'll have to go back to work next week, though
Anyway... this is one of the new Elegant Sierra iterations with Black Ti and Platinum plating. The blank is Blue Damascus Inlace Acrylester. It's always a pain to drill, but it sure did turn smoothly with a radiused square carbide cutter. That's going to be my go-to for Inlace going forward. It was wet sanded/polished through the Zona grits, and try as I may, even with some plastic polish, the radial scratches would not go away, so I got out the buffing wheels. The barrel went through the tripoli, white diamond, and carnauba routine and finally, I am satisfied with the shine.
Please excuse the photo setup. I just plopped it on a black t-shirt. It's been a lazy week; not that I felt like doing much anyway. I did complete a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle, though. LOL
