This is a Tweezer kit from PSI, in gold. The wood is locust tree burl. The finish is Pens Plus. Fast, simple, fun kit.

Very nice pen and outstanding grain. On the farm, locust was used for fence posts as it was resistant to rot. We had millions of pen blanks on the farm.

Same for me in S OK. Black locust, honey locust, and osage orange, aka bois d'arc, aka hedge apple.

I spent a significant part of my youth replacing those old timber posts with metal T-posts. No telling how long they'd been in the ground.

I just recently cut some limbs off of a black locust at my farm. I may have to try to grab some of the larger limbs for pen blanks.
