Greetings from Nebraska,
This is the first pen I have made from Saturday's pour with my youngest son, Ben. Ben drives a semi for a Coca-Cola distributor so he picked the colors - Red and White. The pour and de-molding pictures are in this post.
The pen is a Chrome Magnetic from Crooked Mill. The depth of colors is really good - much more than what is revealed in the pictures. I had a blowout when I drilled the first blank for this pen, there was an old drill hole in the base of my clamp and I didn't get a fresh piece of backer wood put under the pen. Even with a 60-degree drill made specifically for plastic, I had a blowout when the bit broke through the bottom of the blank. Goofy mistake as I know better. Anyhow, if the remaining blanks turn out like this one I will be happy with the pour.
I'm sure Ben will be happy to carry a pen in his truck that he had a hand in making.
Regards,
Dave
