Walnut box with Ambrosia Maple Lid
7 3/4" x 3 3/4" (top of lid)
Five coats of Lacquer
(The second picture includes a Spalted Ash box... which is going to get a Walnut lid.)

I don't know. I don't usually follow the crowd, but this time I did. 🤷‍♂️
Just a quick thought popped into my head. When fancy hats were in fashion, they came in ... what was called a hat box. It was round with a lid. And it carried over? I love the etymology of words and phrases. I may have to look into that.
