This is a Panache rollerball desk pen in black, from CSUSA. The blank is a hybrid cast by my friend Dennis. He used a stick he picked up at the hotel we had our sales meeting at. Unfortunately, all the resin turned off the upper body. But it doesn't look bad. I sanded it to 600 and used Pens Plus.

Jim,
These hybrid blanks are just gorgeous.
It makes me want to get into casting.
Dave
Thanks Dave! Jim always complains about the resin I use until he finishes turning the blanks I make 😅

I fully endorse getting into casting. Honestly, it probably won't save you any money in the long run but you'll be able to make custom colors and hybrids very easily. I use a modified paint pressure-pot from harbor freight - if you've got an air compressor the pot would be the only other thing you're need to do what I do.

Thanks. I have two compressors, however, the one that is most suited for casting is visiting my son - along with about 25% of my other tools - so far. :) - Dave

I even had shavings in my shower!

Another great looking Pen. Although I prefer Natural wooden blanks I admire your work and look forward to seeing your posts.

If you fellas are interested in the Panache kit, Craft Supplies is currently closing them out at a pretty good discount.

Not sure who else carries them, but that source is drying up.
