Following on from my last attempt and the link Mal sent I have now had a much better result.
Please see attached photos of the old and the new.
My mistake was making the tip barrel fit into the ferrule instead of butting up to it and making it a little larger.
So for this attempt I left a little more wood and left it proud of the bushing.
Anyway thank you all for your comments and with a joint effort I think it looks a lot better.
I still don't like the feel of the pen it's too heavy on the cap end.
