I made this blank for the 2015 Bash casting contest, but I wasn't happy with its quality, so I didn't completely finish & enter it. I came across it a couple of weeks ago when I was rummaging through a box of misc stuff & decided, what the heck. It's a somewhat novel blank and it will make a good conversation piece at the office, so I mounted it on the lathe, turned off the excess CA & finished it today. It actually doesn't look too bad on this copper Wall Street Ii.
I cut a piece of ribbon cable to fit a Sierra tube, wrapped & glued it in place, and used a good bit of CA to build it up a little larger than the kit.
I'm sure that an actual cast blank would look much better, but I'm just not into that.
