This pen is a replacement for one that a customer lost. He contacted me in October last year, and I finally got round to completing it.

The reason it took so long is because I have become quite averse to doing things to order. It may sound odd but I'll go out of my way to find anything else to do rather than sit down and make something that somebody specifically asked for. I'm not sure if anybody else feels like this or if it's just me šŸ˜Š. (And I also know the chap, and he wasn't in a great hurry).

The pen is a cellulose acetate with orange and red accents. The nib is a Bock no6 and it is my step-less model (no lip between the 13mm triple lead cap threads and rest of the barrel).

It also happens to be one of my top 5 favourite materials (non-wood). I just love this stuff.

It'll be off to it's new home this week.

Cheers
Ash

Drop-dead gorgeous.

I quite like making to order - it gives me great satisfaction to work with the client to get all the details of what they want (shape, size, features) and then create it. Without that interaction, I find I get half way through making the pen then leave it in the work-in-progress tray and may never get around to finishing it because I don't have that "somebody wants it" feeling.

Oh - and that cellulose acetate - wow. It's stunning - is there any more of that to be found? (and if so, where?)
