Needed to make a pen for my local school fundraiser and decided to go with Orange and Blue (school colors). First idea was an to turn some light cherry down to a slimline and sand to 400, dye the pieces with food dye, and then again with denatured alcohol to get it to soak in. Afterwards, continue on with the CA finish. While I was at it, I took some leftover cherry and decided to try a rainbow out of a Little Giant Editor. The second pen must have soaked up more because the blue blank let too much of the wood's yellow through and it turned Teal (hopefully I'll find a Dolphins fan at an event). Second attempt was Santos Mahogany and I just did some birch inlays for the blue and gold.
