As a follow up to the wine stoppers I turned, I'm making these wine bottle trivets to pair with them. I've put a hole in the middle to hold the stopper. One down, three more to go….

This one was the prototype that I'll "give" to my wife and I. I've realized I need to dial in my final finish a tad better….

And this is what happens when I get in a hurry trying to clean up a problem spot…..

It's a terrible photo but I finished all four. I still need to polish the stoppers up a little bit. I ended up making the replacement out of maple, which I really like, and I ended up gluing felt on the bottoms. I need to do a bit of research on my finishing. I spent a good deal of time sanding all the trivets and there are still some spots I'm not happy with. But overall I'm happy with this first batch.
