I love hand planes. If I'm not turning, I'm probably doing flat work in an unplugged manner. An acquaintance asked if anyone could turn some knobs for him. I thought it sounded line fun.
I measured the dimensions I would need.
I cut the wood blocks the size I needed and drilled holes.
I used a hacksaw to make a tap of sorts from the hand plane.
I cut the threads in the wood blocks.
I needed a chuck for the knobs. I turned some dowels to the dimension of the threads and then cut threads in the dowel with a V-gouge.
I then turned and finished them with shellac
I enjoyed this little project
