I finished these 'Thank You' (center band) pens last month but life got busy and I finally made the time to take a photo and share.

In my county in Ohio, a woman started to participate in doing 5 K runs to donate funds for the Wounded Warrior Project - An organization that supports wounded military above and beyond other available resources. Last year she expressed an interest for donations for gift bags that she would give to her corporate sponsors, and I promised 50 pens (my effort was easy).

When she starts, she runs 5 miles every 4 hrs, until her goal is reached... Continuously! in 2020 she ran 52 miles. In 2021 she ran 107 miles. Her goal this fall is for 140 miles in a 5 day period.

These will be delivered later this week.

All materials came from IAP members. All the wood came from retired service members. Thank you to each who assisted.

Gorgeous pens. So these go to the donors or are these to "sell" for additional donations?
These are 'Thank You' Pens for individuals that assisted the runner.

Last fall there were maybe 25-28 corporate sponsors that assisted to publicize the charity within the community, as well as direct $ donations. The 'runner' gave gift bags to them after the event. I indicated I would make pens with service member materials for her 2022 run for those 'Thank You' bags. However, she may use them in any manner she feels helpful.

Very nice. What a thoughtful gift to give

Very nice group of pens Mark and for a very worthy cause.

Incidentally, I use to travel to Sharon Center and/or Middlefield for work 4-5 times a year and would stay in Wadsworth. I haven't been over that way in 3-4 years but miss my trips to Ohio.

As everyone has said, that's a very nice set of pens for a great cause, but also... wow, that's a LOT of miles. Super kudos to her, also.
Yea, Dawn (Dawn Blue - Facebook - Wounded Warrior) is a machine. I support what she is doing, so that is good for me. I will support her as long as she does this; I can't imagine she can up the milage much further. šŸ˜²
