First time using Zebrawood

Had a little Zebrawood left over from a cutting board I made, so I cut a few pen blanks and made this using the Gold Longwood kit from Rockler. I love the look of Zebrawood and this is the first time I've ever worked with it. This pen turned out great.

Try it crosscut. Beautiful chatoyant.

Good looking pen. I like the smell of zebra wood--little hint of chocolate, but not so much that i have to shut down the lathe to have a candy.

You mean 90* to grain direction or more like 45* ?

90 degrees. I would post pics, however, they do not pick up the chatoyance.

That's funny. My friends tell me that the smell reminds them of the back end of the zebra. :-o
