Been a long time since I posted...life has been hectic for us all. Finally put my mind to getting a few pens out around at the other weekend chores
L-R
- Presimo Rollerball and Fountain Pen, in etched chrome; blank is unidentified figured wood
- Windsor Fountain Pen, in gold titanium, with another u/i figured blank. Decided I don't like this kit because of the fiddly tiny trim ring between section and body, which I just know will get lost quickly
- Sierra Button Click Pencil, in chrome, with a Burnt Copper Mesh blank from Exotic Blanks. Supposed to have a matching pen, but I blew the blank out turning. Love the blank, just ordered more.
- Legacy Classic Fountain Pen, in chrome. Not sure what the blank is; I apparently didn't record it ...
Finish for all involved sanding to 320 or 400, tung oil, a few coats of thin CA, a few coats of medium, and then sanding at 320 or 400 again. Several coats of medium CA, MicroMesh, and the the six-step Stadium Pen Blanks Magic Juice polishing set. I love the results that gives.
The Presimos were a little more trouble, with a few surface voids I had to incrementally fill with CA, and one worm track right at the tube on one end of the fountain pen. That I filled with multiple layers of chips and sawdust plus thin CA.
These are probably going to my wife, who is attending Naval War College; she likes to give pens out as thank-yous and mementos.
