This is my first contribution on this forum. It is a fly fishing twist pen kit.
Started ordering honeycomb aluminum. That kind of material is difficult to obtain here in the Netherlands. Importing from the USA costs 40% more in import costs. But the internet brought the solution.
This aluminum was cleaned with acetone and then cast in epoxy. Turning the blank was problematic. Pieces kept breaking out. Sandpaper and super glue were the last resorts. Ultimately satisfied with the result. I had some left over and I wanted to make a tool for fly tying.
Here it turned out that the epoxy did not adhere well to the 1/8" honeycomb.
